Terms of Service

Welcome to Wentory. These terms are short on purpose: by using Wentory you agree to them.

What Wentory is

Wentory turns your photos and a short description into a story page you can share. Story text and preview images are generated by AI from what you provide, so read your story before you share it, since AI can get details wrong.

Your content stays yours

• You keep full ownership of the photos and text you upload and the stories made from them.
• You give us only the permission needed to run the service: storing your content, processing it to generate your story, and displaying it to the people you share it with.
• You can delete your content at any time, and it stops being served.
• If an account has no login for 12 months or more, we may move its stories to lower-cost archive storage to keep the service sustainable. This is not deletion: your content stays yours, stays intact, and becomes fully viewable again the moment you sign back in.

What you agree not to do

• Upload content you don't have the right to share, including photos of people who wouldn't want them published.
• Use Wentory for anything unlawful, harmful, or abusive, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service.
• Publish content that is illegal, exploitative, or harassing. We may unpublish or remove such content and close accounts that do this.

See something that shouldn't be here? Every public story has a "Report this story" link, or email hello@wentory.com, and we review reports promptly and remove content that breaks these rules.

Sharing

When you publish a story, anyone with its link can view it. Think before sharing links to stories containing personal moments: you control who gets the link, but links can be forwarded.

Plans & fair usage

Every plan, free or paid, includes usage limits, because each story and each AI edit costs real computing resources to make.

• Each plan includes limits on the number of live stories, new stories per month, and AI edits per story. The limits that apply to your account are shown in the app when you approach them.
• Where a paid plan describes a feature as "unlimited", it means unlimited for normal, personal, human use. Generous fair-usage ceilings still apply: they're set well beyond what anyone creating stories by hand would reach, and exist to stop automated or abusive use.
• Automated access (scripts, bots, bulk generation, or any use of the service's APIs outside the app itself) is not permitted.
• If usage patterns indicate abuse, we may throttle, suspend, or close the account. If we ever get this wrong for a genuine user, email us and we'll make it right.
• Limits may be adjusted as the service develops; meaningful changes will be reflected in the app and on this page.

The service, honestly

• Wentory is young and evolving. Features may change, and creation is currently invite-gated while we grow carefully.
• The service is provided "as is", without warranties. We work hard to keep your stories safe and available, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, and our liability is limited to the maximum extent the law allows.

Account

You sign in with Google and are responsible for activity on your account. You can stop using Wentory at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@wentory.com.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above. Continuing to use Wentory after a change means you accept the updated terms.
